මෙරට ඉතිහාසයට අඳුරු මතකයන් එක්කරමින් මිනිත්තු කිහිපයක් තුළ බොහෝ දෙනෙකුට සිය ආදරණියයන් අහිමි කළ ත්සුනාමී ව්යසනයට වසර 17ක් සපිරේ. එම ඛේදවාචකයෙන් දිවි අහිමි වූ ජනතාව සිහිපත් කරනු පිණිස ජාතික සුරක්ෂිතතා දින වැඩසටහන දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කේ.ජි.විජේසිරි මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාල පරිශ්රයේ දී පසුගිය දා පැවැත්විණ.
මෙම ව්යසනයෙන් අතුරුදහන් වූ හා මියගිය අයවළුන් සිහිපත් කරමින් ඔවුන්ට පිං පැමිණවීමේ සර්ව ආගමික වතාවත් හා විනාඩියක නිහැඩියාවක් දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාල නිලධාරීන් විසින් පැවැත්වන ලදි.
මෙම සුරක්ෂිතතා දිනයට සමගාමීව දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාල පරිශ්රයේ රුක් රෝපණ වැඩසටහනක් ද ක්රියාත්මක විය.
දිස්ත්රික් ආපදා කළමනාකරණ ඒකකය විසින් මෙම වැඩසටහන සංවිධානය කළේය.

இந்நாட்டின் வரலாற்றில் இருண்ட நினைவுகளைச் சேர்த்து, சில நிமிடங்களில் பலரைப் பலிவாங்கிய சுனாமி அனர்த்தம் நிகழ்ந்து இன்றுடன் 17 வருடங்களாகின்றன. இந்த அனர்த்தத்தில் உயிரிழந்த மக்களை நினைவு கூறும் வகையில் தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு தின நிகழ்வு மாவட்ட செயலாளர் கே.ஜி.விஜேசிறி தலைமையில் அண்மையில் மாவட்ட செயலக வளாகத்தில் இடம்பெற்றது.
மாவட்ட செயலக அதிகாரிகள் ஒரு நிமிட சமய அனுஷ்டானமும் ஒரு நிமிடம் மௌன அஞ்சலியும் செலுத்தி, அனர்த்தத்தில் காணாமல் போனவர்களுக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்தினர்.
இந்த பாதுகாப்பு தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு மாவட்ட செயலக வளாகத்தில் மர நடுகை நிகழ்ச்சியும் இடம்பெற்றது.
மாவட்ட அனர்த்த முகாமைத்துவ பிரிவினால் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது.
Puttalam District Secretariat celebrates National Security Day ......
It has been 17 years since the tsunami disaster that claimed the lives of many people in a matter of minutes, adding dark memories to the history of this country. The National Safety Day program was held under the patronage of District Secretary KG Wijesiri at the District Secretariat premises recently to commemorate the people who lost their lives in the tragedy.
District Secretariat officials held a minute of religious observance and a minute of silence to pay their respects to those who went missing and died in the disaster.
A tree-planting program was also held at the District Secretariat premises to coincide with this Safety Day.
The program was organized by the District Disaster Management Unit.
