තොරතුරු ලබා ගැනීමේ අයිතිය බලාත්මක කිරීම මගින් පොදු අධිකාරිවල විනිවිද භාවය සහ මගවීමේ සංස්කෘතිය ඇති කිරීම අරමුණු කොට දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩිමුළුවක් අතිරේක දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් (පාලන) පුබුදිකා එස් බණ්ඩාර මහත්මියගේ සම්පත් දායකත්වයෙන් දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාල ශ්රවණාගාරයේදී පසුගියදා පැවැත්විණි.
එහිදී තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ අයිතිය හා එහි ලක්ෂණ, තොරතුරු අයිතිවාසිකම් නීතියෙහි පරමාර්ථ, තොරතුරු අර්ථකථනය, තොරතුරු ලබාගත හැකි ආකාර, තොරතුරු ඉල්ලීමක් ප්රතික්ෂේප කල හැකි අවස්ථා, තොරතුරු ලබා ගැනීමේ කාර්ය පටිපාටි හා ගාස්තු පිළිබඳව, අභියාචනා ක්රියාවලිය, තොරතුරු සපයන නිලධාරීන් වෙත සපයා ඇති රැකවරණය, හේතු දැනගැනීමේ අයිතිය, තොරතුරු නිලධාරීන්ගේ වගකීම් හා කාර්යයන්, පොදු අධිකාරියක වගකීම් හා කාර්යභාරය සහ වැරදි හා දණ්ඩනයන් යන කරුණු පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡාවට ලක් කළේය.

A program at the District Secretariat to raise awareness of the right to information....
An awareness seminar was held recently at the District Secretariat Auditorium with the aim of creating transparency and a culture of transparency in public authorities by enforcing the Right to Information, with the resourceful contribution of Additional District Secretary (Administration) Pubudika S. Bandara.
At the event, the Right to Information and its characteristics, the objectives of the Right to Information Act, the interpretation of information, the ways in which information can be obtained, the circumstances in which a request for information can be refused, the procedures and fees for obtaining information, the appeal process, the protection provided to information providers, the right to know the reasons, the responsibilities and functions of information officers, the responsibilities and functions of a public authority, and the offences and penalties.
This workshop, sponsored by the Ministry of Mass Media, was attended by government officials, journalists, and representatives of non-governmental organizations, representatives of adult organizations, representatives of youth and sports, and representatives of voluntary organizations.
