"පසුගිය අවුරුද්ද පෙරදා රාත්‍රී යේ අවසන් වුවද අභියෝග රැසකට මුහුණ දුන් අවුරුද්දක්. ස්වභාවික ව්‍යසනයන්ගෙන් ලද බලපෑම තවදුරටත් තිබෙනවා. එම අභියෝගයන්ට පිළිතුරු සොයන අතරම තමයි අපි 2026 වර්ෂයට පියනගන්නේ. එසේම ඉදිරියේදී ඇතිවිය හැකි සියලු අභියෝගයන් ඉදිරියේ අවබෝධයෙන් ශක්තිමත්ව කටයුතු කරන ලෙසත්, ප්‍රශංසා දෝෂ දර්ශන ඇසීමට සූදානමින් තම තමන්ගේ රාජකාරි ඉහළ ගුණාත්මක තත්ත්වයෙන් සිදු කිරීම කළ යුතු බවත් නව වසරට සුබ පැතුම් එක්කරමින් දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් ඉන්දික සිල්වා මහතා මෙහිදී පැවසීය."
මීට සමගාමීව රුක් රෝපණ වැඩසටහනක් දිස්ත්‍රික් කෘෂිකර්ම අංශය විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී.

Extending his best wishes for the New Year, District Secretary Mr. Indika Silva made these remarks.”

Concurrently, a tree-planting programme was organized by the District Agriculture Division.

“கடந்த ஆண்டு நேற்று இரவு நிறைவடைந்திருந்தாலும், அது பல சவால்களை எதிர்கொண்ட ஒரு ஆண்டாக இருந்தது. இயற்கை அனர்த்தங்களால் ஏற்பட்ட தாக்கங்கள் இன்னும் தொடர்கின்றன. அந்தச் சவால்களுக்கு தீர்வுகளைத் தேடும் நிலையிலேயே நாம் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்குள் காலடி எடுத்து வைக்கிறோம். எதிர்காலத்தில் ஏற்படக்கூடிய அனைத்து சவால்களையும் புரிதலுடனும் உறுதியுடனும் எதிர்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்றும், பாராட்டுகளையும் விமர்சனங்களையும் ஏற்கத் தயாராக இருந்து, தத்தமது கடமைகளை உயர்ந்த தரத்துடன் நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டும் என்றும் அவர் வலியுறுத்தினார். புதிய ஆண்டிற்கான வாழ்த்துக்களையும் தெரிவித்துக் கொண்டு மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் திரு. இந்திகா சில்வா அவர்கள் இக்கருத்துகளைத் தெரிவித்தார்.”

இதனுடன் இணைந்து, மாவட்ட வேளாண்மை பிரிவின் ஏற்பாட்டில் மரநடுகைத் திட்டம் ஒன்றும் நடைப்பெற்றது.
