புத்தளம் மாவட்டத்தில் காட்டு யானைப் பிரச்சினை தொடர்பாக முந்தைய கூட்டங்களில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட தீர்மானங்களைச் செயல்படுத்துவதில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள முன்னேற்றத்தை மீளாய்வு செய்வதற்காக, மனித-யானை மோதல் மேலாண்மைக் குழுவின் முன்னேற்ற மீளாய்வுக் கூட்டம் 2026 ஜூன் 16 அன்று புத்தளம் மாவட்டச் செயலகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.

பொது நிர்வாகம், மாகாண சபைகள் மற்றும் மாகாண சபைகள் அமைச்சர் பேராசிரியர் சந்தன அபேயரத்ன தலைமையில் நடைபெற்ற இக்கலந்தாய்வில், புத்தளம் மாவட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்புக் குழுவின் இணைத் தலைவர் கௌரவ அந்தோண் ஜயகோடி, கௌரவ கயன் ஜனக, புத்தளம் மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் ஒய்.ஐ.எம். சில்வா, மேலதிக மாவட்டச் செயலாளர் (நிலங்கள்) சதுரக ஜயசிங்க மற்றும் பிற அதிகாரிகள் கலந்துகொண்டனர்.

வனப் பாதுகாப்புத் திணைக்களம், வனவிலங்கு பாதுகாப்புத் திணைக்களம், நீர்ப்பாசனத் திணைக்களம் ஆகியவற்றின் பிரதிநிதிகள், பொதுப் பிரதிநிதிகள் மற்றும் அப்பகுதி மக்களும் இந்நிகழ்வில் பங்கேற்றனர்.

The progress review meeting of the Human-Elephant Conflict Management Committee was held on 16th June 2026 at the Puttalam District Secretariat to review the progress of implementing the decisions taken in the previous meetings regarding the wild elephant problem in the Puttalam District.

The discussion, chaired by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Provincial Councils, Prof. Chandana Abeyratne, was attended by the Co-Chairman of the Puttalam District Coordination Committee, Hon. Anton Jayakody, Hon. Gayan Janaka, Puttalam District Secretary Y.I.M. Silva, Additional District Secretary (Lands) Chathuraka Jayasinghe and other officials.

Officers representing the Forest Conservation Department, Wildlife Conservation Department, Irrigation Department, public representatives and residents of the area also participated in the event.
At this meeting, the progress of the programs implemented to minimize human-elephant conflict in the Puttalam district was reviewed and future measures were discussed at length.
