නිරිතදිග මෝසම් තත්වයේ බලපෑම හේතුවෙන් හටගත් තද වැසි සහ සුළං නිසා පුත්තලම දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ග්‍රාම නිලධාරි වසම් 157 ක ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාස 15ක ට බලපෑම් සිදුව ඇති බව දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් එච්.එම්.එස්.පි හේරත් මහතා පවසයි. මෙම අයහපත් කාලගුණික තත්වයෙන් පවුල් 2184 ක පුද්ගලයින් 7315 දෙනෙකු තවදුරටත් පීඩාවට පත්ව සිටිති.
පුද්ගල මරණ 4ක් වාර්තාවේ . පැවති තද සුළං තත්වය හේතුවෙන් මාර්ගයන් හි ගස් කඩා වැටීම ‍නිසා කාන්තාවන් තිදෙනෙකු මියගොස් ඇත. මුන්දලම ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසයේ සුළං සමඟ ඇතිවූ මුහුදු රළ හේතුවෙන් බෝට්ටුව පෙරලීයාමෙන් ධීවරයෙකු මියගොස් ඇති බව වාර්තා වේ. අයහපත් කාලගුණයෙන් මෙතෙක් දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ තුවාල ලබා ඇති පුද්ගලයින් සංඛ්‍යාව 5 දෙනෙකි.

මෙම තත්වය නිසා අර්ධ නිවාස හානි 103 හා ව්‍යාපාර ස්ථාන 18කට හානි සිදුව තිබේ.
සුරක්ෂිත මධ්‍යස්ථාන දෙකක් මේ වන විට පවත්වාගෙන යන බවත් එහි පවුල් 60ක පුද්ගලයින් 207 දෙනෙකු රඳවා සිටින බව දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම්වරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය. මහවැව නයිට් ග්‍රීන් ශාලාවේ සහ නාත්තන්ඩිය නිග්‍රෝධාරාම විහාරස්ථානයේ එම සුරක්ෂිත මධ්‍යස්ථාන පිහිටි ස්ථාන වේ.
අධික සුළං හේතුවෙන් වෙන්නප්පුව සිට කල්පිටිය දක්වා වෙරළ තීරයෙහි නිවාසයන්ට බලපෑම් සිදුව ඇති අතර ඇතැම් ස්ථාන වෙරළ ඛාදනයට ලක්ව ඇත. උ/මූදුකටුව ධීවර තොටුපළ අධික සුළං තත්වය නිසා ඇති වූ මුහුදු රළ හේතුවෙන් දැඩි ලෙස හානියට පත්ව ඇති බව ත් ආරච්චිකට්ටුව කරුපනේ වෙරළ තීරය ද දැඩි ලෙස බලපෑමට ලක්ව ඇති බවත් දිස්ත්‍රික් ආපදා ඒකකය සඳහන් කරයි.

එමෙන්ම පාසල් ආශ්‍රිතව පවත්නා අනතුරුදායක ගස් ( දිරාපත් වූ /මුල්දිරීමට ලක් වූ /අස්ථාවරව පවත්නා) ඉවත් කිරිමට අවශ්‍ය උපදෙස් කලාප අධ්‍යාපන අධ්‍යක්ෂ මගින් විදුහල්පතිවරුන් දැනුවත් කර ඇති බව දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් එච්.එම්.එස්.පි.හේරත් මහතා වැඩිදුරටත් පවසන ලදි.
තවද ජීවිත හා දේපලවලට පවතින අනතුරු දායක තත්වය තහවුරු කර ගැනීමෙන් පසුව මාර්ග දෙපස හා පොදු ස්ථානවල පිහිටි අනතුරුදායක ගස් ඉවත් කිරිමට කඩිනමින් ක්‍රියාමාර්ග ගැනීමට පළාත් පාලන ආයතන ඇතුළු අනෙකුත් ආයතන වලට ආරක්ෂක රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් උපදෙස් ලැබී ඇත.

15 DIVISIONAL SECRETARIAT DIVISIONS OF PUTTALAM DISTRICT HAVE BEEN HIT BY BAD WEATHER.

District Secretary HMSP Herath says that 157 Grama Niladharies’ divisions of 15 Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Puttalam District have been affected due to the heavy rains and winds caused by the influence of South West Monsoon. Approximately  7315 people in 2184 families are further affected by this bad weather condition.

4 deaths have been reported. Three women have died due to falling trees on the roads due to strong winds. It is reported that a fisherman has died after his boat overturned due to the sea waves caused by the wind in Mundel Divisional Secretariat Division. The number of people who have been injured in the district so far due to bad weather is 5 people.

Due to this situation, 103 semi-detached houses and 18 business places have been damaged.

The district secretary further added that two Safe centres are currently being maintained and 207 people from 60 families are being held there. Mahawewa Night Green Hall and Nattandiya Nigrodharama Viharaya are the locations of those safe centers.

Due to high winds, houses on the coast from Wennappuwa to Kalpitiya have been affected and some places have suffered coastal erosion. The District Disaster Unit states that N/Mudukatuwa fishing pier has been severely damaged due to the sea waves caused by the high wind conditions and Arachchikattuwa Karukkupane beach has also been severely affected.

Also, District Secretary H. M. S. P. Herath further said that the Regional Director of Education has informed the principals of the necessary instructions to remove the dangerous trees (decayed/uprooted/unstable) around the schools.

Furthermore, after confirming the danger to life and property, the Ministry of Defence has given instructions to Local Authorities including all other institutions to take immediate action to remove the dangerous trees on the two sides of the road and in public places.
